You can go but tell them No MSG in my food ani.

As a matter of fact, I used to crave for Malaysian food during my rpegnancy and I went there almost 2 times a week. And naaku till the last day teleedu that they add MSG too. So repu delivery antey ivaala vellamu and enduko maa hubby adigaru "Do you add MSG? ani and the waiter said Yes. I was shocked ki baby elaa pudtado ani. But luckily nothing happened.

Recent ga Food Network lo food detectives aney program choosanu. Dantlo cheppadu that MSG is not harmful. It is a form of salt, so you will get dehydrated. You have to drink good amount of water. Thats it. So don't worry. You are good to go

I am a vegetarian but I eat egg.. any idea if this is good enough? Please suggest

I guess you are taking veggies along with ur rice/roti
Make sure you take yogurt atleast once a day. The bacteria in the yogurt helps in preventing UTI (which is common among preggies). Also milk atleast twice ayina taggataniki try chey. Otherwise ur diet sounds healthy.
Snacks ki low fat cottage cheese, nuts especially walnuts and almonds try cheyachu. Avoid cashews if you want to watch ur diet..otherwise walnuts are rich in omega 3 and almonds are very good for the heart

2000-calorie diet plan idi..

morning levaganey on the bed or pallu tomaganey ;) .. 4 biscuits or a banana.
Breakfast -- 3 idlis with sambar/2 dosas with sambar/1 boiled egg with 2 slices of whole wheat bread/1 bowl poha/1 bowl upma.

1 hour gap -- Milk with 8 to 10 soaked almonds (de skinned)

1.2/1 hour gap -- 1 fruit (restrict papaya, pineapple) or a glass of fresh squeezed juice.

Lunch -- 1 bowl salad
1 bowl rice/2 chapatis with 1/2 bowl rice
1 katori dal/sambar/2 pcs of chicken
2 katori veg
1 katori curd

mid meal snack.. bowllo nuts vesukuni all types, non-roasted badam/pista/walnut/dates/kismis etc.. 5 of each.. or anything you like to eat carrot pieces..

Evening Snack -- palak soup/mix veg soup (home made).

1/1.5 hours -- 4 multigrain biscuits/whole wheat biscuits/sprouted moong/anything with besan in it

1 hour later -- fruit..

Dinner -- same as lunch...

Bedtime -- 1 glass milk..

Egg Yellow:

as per my doc, it depends on the protein intake you already have in the day.. high-protien food like sprouts avi tintoo undi, protein supplements teesukunetatlu aite kanaka take 2 egg whites only.. if not you can consume whole egg and yellow.

I am prescribed Mama Protinex (Indian Brand) here, so relatively less activities untay kabatti yellow restriction.

Question

Girls.... a silly question. How often do all preggies eat eggs? I got different opinions from different people. Some say eggs are good while some tell to avoid it. I know yolk is not good but how about egg whites??

I'm not able to eat any dal so thinking of taking eggs to compensate for the protein. I don't like non-veg too.

Any other protein food suggestions?

Thanks. I too eat organic or free range egg white but only once in a while. Don't know how often it can be eaten.

As Aruna said, one of the pharmacists here mentioned that they don't recommend any protein powders for pregnant women.

The protein powders I've seen in pharmacies are more suitable for athletes or body builders. I couldn't find any for pregnant women.

I usually eat almonds everyday ......trying to find other protein alternatives too.

My weight hasn't increased and I feel it's because of the way I've been eating... I can see my tummy growing but weight still is the same as it was before i got pregnant... I hope baby isn't getting malnourished. By the way, I'm 17 weeks pregnant now.

I don't know which protein powder you are using but the one I brought is from vitamin world which should only be used by pregnant women. Naa doctor kuda aa okka vishyam mathrame mechukundi that i'm using protein powder ('coz nenu meat asalu thinadam ledhu), and she had me change rest of my diet.

so I don't think we should rule out the option of using protein powder. They are different kinds out there in the market, including organic and no preservative ones..just my though

I'm 16 wks now and I feel hungry most of the time... I do eat short and frequent meals. I'm not eating a proper diet because I'm still not 100% out of nausea. But i do manage to get atleast part of the daily required nutrients....

Is it normal to feel so hungry ??? I read somewhere that we need only an extra 300-400 calories at this time. But the rate at which i feel hungry I feel I can go beyond it... Is it ok???? Am i worrying too much?

Even I have no interest in food. I'm eating just for the sake of it...... I eat fruits and raw veggies like cucumber, carrots. I just fry spinach/ bok choy and celery in very little oil (with/ without tadka). I prepare lemon rice/rice vermicelli and add thinly sliced veggies to it. The sour taste of lemon helps. I can't eat any masala items. I'm still trying to get ideas for eating more veggies which will suit my taste buds but still not successful.

I haven't yet started any non-veg item... one reason being I don't feel like eating and other reason being i get different inputs from different people regarding non-veg.

I had this problem with prenatals.. in fact I had blood in the stools suddenly.. chaala bhayam vesindi.. then I did this.. 1 day I took prenatal and second day I did not.. alternated this 4 days.. and I could see that the day I did not take prenatal.. next day everything was fine..

I told this to my gync and she gave me few samples of prescription prenatals.. I tried all of them and only one suited me..it had a different concept on how iron in the tablets digest. Iron is the main cause of constipation.

This is my experience.. may not work for u.. but you can ask ur doc to give some samples of prenatals and see if a change works for u

One more thing. I was advised to have prenatals in the night after dinner. Moreover do not have prenatals with milk. Have it with water. If you are drinking milk, give it 30 min time before or after. so that the digestion of milk and prenatals do not interfere

kalyani, too much of anything is not good. meeku levels anni baga vunapudu, Inka doc yenduku vesukomandho naku ardham kaledhu. iron yekuva thisukunte, constipation vuntadi baga. naa case lo, naku d3 levels thakuvunai (my body is not absorbing calcium) so I continued taking D3 after I got pregnant. prescription prenatals aithe DHA vatilone vuntadi. over the counter konna prenatal like naturemade vatilo vundadhu.so only then u are supposed to take DHA seperately.

Manam food lo absorb chesukuntaam ani prenatals lo all vitamins and minerals 100% undavu kada. But as iron and calcium more important ani icchinattu undi. Yes, I did study a lot on importance of iron and calcium and have decided to take them as my doc recommended.. Naaku iron in prenatals tho modatlo problem ayyindi anduke I was hesitant. But, will try supplements and see how it goes
